TIPS TO SURVIVING SUBSIDY REMOVAL IN NIGERIA 🇳🇬

Image
The removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria can be a tough phase to navigate for individuals and businesses. However, there are some tips that can help one survive this period: 1. Adopt fuel-efficient habits: One of the ways to cope with the effects of fuel subsidy removal is to adopt fuel-efficient habits like carpooling, maintaining your vehicle, and reducing unnecessary trips. 2. Buy food in bulk. If you are not used to buying bags of beans, “garri” or rice, start now. Price will increase as cost of logistics also increase. If you have to borrow to do this, then do so.  3. Create a budget: It's important to create a budget that reflects the current economic realities. Prioritize expenses while cutting back on non-essential costs. 4. Explore renewable energy sources: Exploring renewable energy sources like solar energy for powering your home, office, or business can help reduce energy costs. Bulk costs but worth it.  6. Identify income-generating opportunities: Consider exploring...

FULL SPEECH - Nigeria President Tinubu

Image
My Fellow Citizens, I stand before you honoured to assume the sacred mandate you have given me. My love for this nation is abiding. My confidence in its people, unwavering. And my faith in God Almighty, absolute. I know that His hand shall provide the needed moral strength and clarity of purpose in those instances when we seem to have reached the limits of our human capacity. This day is bold and majestic yet bright and full of spirit, as is our precious nation. As a nation, we have long ago decided to march beyond the dimness of night into the open day of renewed national hope. Monetary policy needs thorough housecleaning. The Central Bank must work towards a unified exchange rate. This will direct funds away from arbitrage into meaningful investment in the plant, equipment and jobs that power the real economy. Interest rates need to be reduced to increase investment and consumer purchasing in ways that sustain the economy at a higher level. Whatever merits it had in concept, the...

Nigeria President Tinubu said this on Monday during his inaugural speech at Eagle Square in Abuja. He was informed that there is no provision for fuel subsidy, adding that it can no longer be justified.     He said, “Fuel subsidy is no more. "We shall instead re-channel the funds into better investment in public infrastructure, education, health care and jobs that will materially improve the lives of millions. “No provision for fuel subsidy.” He said there will be a “thorough house cleaning,” adding that the interest rate will be reduced. Subsidy can no longer justify its ever-increasing costs in the wake of drying resources.

On Wednesday the supreme dismissed the appeal filed by the People’s Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23, 2019 presidential election. Knock Buhari: Atiku, Fayose meet in Ekiti,

Image
Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, and Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, met behind closed doors in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday. The two are eyeing the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 elections. They went into a private meeting after addressing party leaders, members of the State House of Assembly and the State Executive Council. Details of the meeting were not disclosed to journalists. But there are insinuations that Atiku is considering Fayose as his running mate. The governor, who maintained that his presidential ambition remained intact, said only “God knows tomorrow.” At separate interviews, the duo said former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s statement on President Muhammadu Buhari had confirmed that the All Progressives Congress-led government had failed. Atiku said, “I won’t comment on the letter but it is a confirmation that the APC has failed this country. That party is not the solution to our country’s challenges.” He hinted that he ...

A wild fire yesterday razed an oil tank farm belonging to Stallionaire Oil at Ijegun, Satellite town, Lagos State. The fire, which went almost out of control, caused panic among residents of Satellite Town and Ojo area. Thankfully, no human life was lost. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) officials were able to contain the inferno by deploying state of the art emergency equipment. Spokesman of the agency, Adebayo Kehinde, who spoke with newsmen at the scene, said there was no need for panic as the agency had put adequate measures in place to ensure that the fire does not escalate. According to him, “the agency was alerted through the emergency toll free line 112/767 concerning a fire outbreak at Stallionaire Oil Depot, Ijegun Satelite Town. Colony of Cattle ? Perish the thought

Image
Audu Ogbeh’s  Minister of Agriculture, proposal to establish  ‘cattle colony’ in each state to resolve the  frequent  and  destructive  clashes between  farmers and itinerant  herdsmen is strange and un-implementable. It is, an idea ‘dead on arrival’ As many commentators have rightly noted, there is only one place in the whole wide world Pakistan, where this unusual concept operates and even then, it is essentially a trading centre for cattle and cattle products. It is not a facility to rear cattle.  So pray, how will this minister’s proposal solve a lingering socio-economic problem that is fast transmuting into a dangerous political problem? Whereas the received –and informed- opinion is  that Nigerian authorities should embrace modernity  by establishing  cattle ranches  that have been proven, globally, to be more economically beneficial  to both cattle owners and  national  economy, Ogbeh...

APC replies Obasanjo, educates him on successes

Image
The Federal Government on Wednesday replied to an elder statesman, Olusegun Obasanjo’s criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Lai Mohammed, gave the response in a seven-page statement. He thanked the ex-president for the letter. FULL STATEMENT: We have read the press statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the State of the Nation. For the record, Chief Obasanjo is a patriot, and he has proven this time and time again. We appreciate what he said concerning the Administration’s performance in two out of the three key issues that formed the plank of its campaign: Fighting corruption and tackling insurgency. Specifically, the former President said President Buhari must be given credit for his achievement so far in these two areas. We thank him for this. Apparently, the former President believes that the Administration does not deserve a pass mark in the area of the economy, which is the thi...

Humans Visit Mysterious Caves To For Worship

Image
Caves, in historic times, served as a place of shelter and defence. As humans inhabited these caves, some became revered as a place of worship and a place for the preservation of religion. The serenity and isolation from the rest of the world may have been two of the many reasons for preserving deities of different religions in caves. These caves, by virtue of having a diety, have been termed holy and mysterious. This is why every year, tourists, as well as thousands of religious fanatic, flock these caves to offer prayers. See some of the caves below: Awhum Waterfall And Cave – Nigeria The water gotten from the waterfall is said to heal the sick and chases away evil spirits. Although there is, allegedly, documented evidence of this significant discovery, many swear by its healing powers. This is further heightened by the fact that a section of the water remains warm every season. Obasanjo’s letter Bomb to President Buhari

Image
THE WAY OUT: A CLARION CALL FOR COALITION FOR NIGERIA MOVEMENT SpecialPressStatementByPresident Olusegun Obasanjo Since we are still in the month of January, it is appropriate to wish all Nigerians Happy 2018. I am constrained to issue this special statement at this time considering the situation of the country. Some of you may be asking, “What has brought about this special occasion of Obasanjo issuing a Special Statement?” You will be right to ask such a question. But there is a Yoruba saying that ‘when lice abound in your clothes, your fingernails will never be dried of blood’. When I was in the village, to make sure that lice die, you put them between two fingernails and press hard to ensure they die and they always leave blood stains on the fingernails. To ensure you do not have blood on your fingernails, you have to ensure that lice are not harboured anywhere within your vicinity. The lice of poor performance in government – poverty, insecurity, poor economic managemen...
